Job summary

Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley is seeking an Accounting Coordinator to maintain accounts receivable records, process donations and customer payments, and support the organization’s financial operations in a hybrid Oakland setting.

This role collaborates with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure timely collections, accurate reporting, and compliance with procedures, with four days in the Oakland office and one remote day.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of accounting or accounts receivable experience.
• Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping principles.
• Strong data entry, numerical, and analytical skills; 10-key proficiency preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Teams).
• Experience with Sage CRE 300 or similar accounting software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accounts receivable records and postings.
• Process donations and customer payments.
• Enter billing invoices and support monthly close processes.
• Reconcile AR balances and perform aging analysis.
• Collaborate with fundraising and other departments for AR collections.
• Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation.
• Maintain petty cash and unit office accounting records.
