Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a seasoned finance leader to oversee the finance and accounting operations for the business unit. You will supervise the team, ensure accurate financial data, and support decision-making while maintaining compliance and pursuing process improvements.

The role requires guiding staff on policy, ensuring ERP system proficiency, and keeping up with best practices and regulations. You will interact with management and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 5 years of relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.
• Analytical skills with financial reporting, controls testing, and audits.
• Clear and concise communication with all levels of management.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to lead a finance team and manage priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily finance/accounting operations and internal controls.
• Coordinates collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data.
• Analyzes results, monitors variances, and prepares standard and custom reports.
• Guides staff on policy and responds to internal/external inquiries.
• Ensures ERP users can plan, record, and manage projects and financials; provides training.
• Maintains knowledge of best practices and current regulations.
• Recommends changes to policies to ensure compliance.
