Job summary

Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, VA is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. You will manage AP/AR, billing, collections, cash receipts, payroll, and month-end close while working with corporate accounting resources.

You will report to the General Manager and supervise the accounting team, ensuring compliance with policies and accurate financial reporting across the resort.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant work experience, including recent experience as Accounting Manager or Finance Manager supervising direct reports.
• Advanced computer skills with MS Office, accounting software and databases; hospitality platforms preferred (Opera PMS, Micros 9700 POS, etc.).
• Proficiency with web-based accounting systems; NetSuite experience is a plus.
• Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, strategic thinker focused on accuracy with the big picture in mind.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to direct, supervise, and delegate efficiently.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the accounting department including AP, AR, billing, collections, and payroll.
• Assist General Manager with budget and forecast preparation.
• Review month-end closing and reconciliations; coordinate with corporate office.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data; enforce proper methods and controls.
• Coordinate annual audits and maintain fiscal records.
• Serve as liaison between property heads and corporate accounting teams.
• Identify internal control weaknesses and implement improvements.
• Meet corporate financial objectives and deadlines.
• Supervise accounting staff and delegate tasks efficiently.
