Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. in Lynchburg, VA is seeking a Finance Intern for Government Operations (Summer 2027). You will support financial modeling, budgeting, reporting, and automation projects under guidance from site finance leads.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with a focus on Finance or another relevant field.
• Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and handle multiple tasks successfully.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong skills with Microsoft Office suite.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with financial modeling, analysis, and aspects of reporting.
• Support the budgeting process.
• Support automation projects and contribute to other high-value projects (enhanced analytics, system implementations, etc.) as available.
• Work as a team member in meeting the needs of the office staff, leaders, and customers.
• Provide excellent customer service to help customers and staff reach their goals.
• Evaluate current systems and procedures and make process improvement suggestions, including the use of AI.
