Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT) in Lynchburg, VA seeks a Supply Chain Intern to support project scheduling, cross-functional communications, and executive-ready insights for key supply chain initiatives.

This on-site role will prepare status updates, milestone summaries, and select financial information for teams and stakeholders. You will contribute to continuous improvement by standardizing processes, validating data, building dashboards, and delivering reporting solutions.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in economics, finance, accounting, supply chain, logistics, math/statistics, information systems, or related technical majors such as engineering.
• Ability to integrate business acumen with technical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of AI tools including Copilot and/or ChatGPT.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Support scheduling activities and project-related communications.
• Attend cross-functional project meetings to support the team and learn how different functions work together.
• Assist in preparing clear project status updates, milestone summaries, and select financial information for teams and stakeholders.
• Help create concise, executive-ready summaries for key supply chain initiatives.
• Participate in data and process reviews to identify and support continuous improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to standardizing processes and best practices to improve consistency and efficiency.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with company policies, project systems, documentation standards, and other requirements.
• Help develop and maintain routines for preparing and validating data used in performance reporting.
• Assist in building/maintaining dashboards and reports that highlight key performance indicators.
• Support the development of new reporting solutions, including defining requirements, running queries, validating results, and delivering standard and custom reports.
