Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. invites applications for a Finance Intern position onsite in Lynchburg, VA. The role provides exposure to journal entries, financial modeling, reporting, forecasting, and automation projects under finance leads and site controllers.

Collaboration with teams across sites on Teams and in person is expected. The internship focuses on developing financial skills, analytics, and process improvements, with guidance from experienced professionals and opportunities to work on

Qualifications

Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with a focus on Finance or another relevant field.
Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and handle multiple tasks successfully.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong skills with Microsoft Office suite, especially MS Excel.
Ability to develop effective working relationships.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy security clearance.

Responsibilities

Perform journal entries.
Assist with financial modeling, analysis, and aspects of reporting.
Support the forecasting process.
Support automation projects and contribute to other high-value projects (enhanced analytics, system implementations, etc.) as available.
Work as a team member in meeting the needs of the office staff, leaders, and customers.
Provide excellent customer service to help customers and staff reach their goals.
Evaluate current systems and procedures and make process improvement suggestions, including the use of AI , Power BI and Power Query.
