Job summary

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission is seeking a strategic, hands-on Division Chief for the Financial Management Division in Prince George's County to lead budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, cost recovery, and resource development. The role reports to the Department Director and guides the responsible use of public funds.

The ideal candidate will review complex analyses, present recommendations to senior officials, and mentor a team of managers and professionals

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 8 years of progressively responsible experience including lead or supervisory roles.
• Public sector budgeting, finance, and internal controls experience.
• Driver's license may be required in accordance with state and Commission rules.

Responsibilities

• Lead budget formulation, expenditure and revenue forecasting, financial analysis, reporting, and presentation of recommendations across six operating funds.
• Review complex analyses and assumptions to ensure accuracy and sound financial judgment.
• Present and defend budget recommendations before the Planning Board, County Executive, and County Council.
• Develop and manage the Division's budget, monitor expenditures, and provide guidance on resource allocation.
