Job summary

The Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission, Prince George’s County Department of Parks and Recreation, Southern Recreation and Leisure Services Division, seeks a Recreation/Park Facility Manager II (Facility Director) to lead daily operations and staff, oversee rentals, marketing, budgeting, and program development.

The role includes supervising staff, ensuring safety and compliance, and implementing comprehensive programming for the community center area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Parks and Recreation, Facility Management, Recreation Management, Education, Business Administration, Physical Education, Communication, Leisure Services, or related field.
• Two (2) years of professional experience in a facility related to parks, recreation, or relevant area, including one (1) year as a facility manager or supervisor.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted totaling six (6) years.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day facility operations and staff.
• Supervises full-time, part-time, and contracted staff; manages maintenance, security, and equipment.
• Responsible for facility rental, marketing, public relations, budgeting, and operating procedures.
