Job summary

Core-Mark seeks a primary business partner to the OpCo Presidents for setting financial goals and strategies, overseeing financial planning, and safeguarding division assets. The role involves light travel among Columbus, Cleveland, and Detroit locations and on-site work.

Responsibilities include developing strategic financial plans, evaluating profitability, ensuring cost leverage, and delivering timely forecasts with variance analyses to guide leadership decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and finance is required.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis and forecasting.
• Analytical mind with strategic ability.
• Excellent organization and leadership skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Capable of being persuasive effectively at the highest levels.
• Builds and maintains strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders in functions and teams across the business.
• Ability to work effectively with large amounts of data, drill down into details and provide incisive high level overviews; extreme attention to details.

Responsibilities

• Develop annual strategic and financial business plans for divisions in collaboration with the management team.
• Review customer proformas to support pricing / bid process and evaluate actual profitability against expectations.
• Ensure expense leverage throughout the division by reviewing and making recommendations for savings in expense areas.
• Responsible for submission of timely and accurate forecasts and trend analyses.
• Communicate material changes to forecast/budget as soon as known.
• Review financial results with division management and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare, review and approve month end variance reporting.
• Review and process month end journal entries for timely close.
• Monitor inventory management systems and controls to protect asset value.
• Support external and internal audit processes as necessary.
• Provide ad hoc analysis as needed to support the Regional VP and Division Presidents.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
