Job summary

Lenoir Community College seeks a Director of Finance to oversee all finance, accounting, and reporting activities, leading day-to-day operations and supervising staff including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and purchasing.

The role works with college leadership to ensure effective program implementation, flawless audits, and strong internal controls while aligning expenditures with grant and program budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
• CPA license or master's degree preferred.
• Accounting experience required.
• Supervisory experience encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Maintain internal controls for revenue, costs, and budgets.
• Coordinate all audit activities.
• Assist leadership in annual budgeting and planning; monitor variances.
• Oversee financial, project/program, and grants accounting.
• Ensure expenditures align with grant and program budgets.
• Prepare financial reports for government, corporate, and foundation grants.
• Lead finance team and develop training.
• Strengthen internal communications and positive work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Financial Services.
