Job summary

Legal Services of North Florida (LSNF) seeks an experienced Finance Director to lead financial operations at our Tallahassee headquarters. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, you will manage budgets, forecasting, grant reporting, and supervise accounting staff as part of a collaborative management team.

This full-time on-site role requires nonprofit accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate with program staff and external funders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible experience in accounting.
• Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and compliance.
• Commitment to the organization’s mission and values.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Financial Management & Reporting: prepare and monitor the annual budget; develop financial reports for the Board and senior management; ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls and grants.
• Grant Management & Compliance: collaborate with program staff on grant budgets and reports; ensure compliance with funder requirements and applicable laws.
• Leadership & Supervision: supervise accounting staff and provide performance evaluation; participate as a management team member.
• Administration & Operational Oversight: coordinate payroll, procurement, vendor payments, and accounts payable; manage real estate finance and surplus funds investments.
• Professional Development: maintain knowledge of tax laws and accounting regulations; participate in trainings and conferences.
