Advocate Health is offering a Finance/Accounting internship for the summer, fully remote from approved states. The program runs May 31, 2027 through August 6, 2027, with up to 40 hours per week during Mon-Fri business hours.

Interns will assist with data extraction, trend analysis, budgeting, and revenue cycle support, while learning cost accounting and government program rules. Qualified candidates are pursuing a related degree, expect GPA 2.5+, and bring strong Excel skills, communication,

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Management or a related field with junior or senior standing.

Responsabilités

• Develop automated processes using Excel to minimize manual work.
• Review and analyze discrepancies in charges and implement changes for professional and hospital charges.
• Prepare financial and statistical analyses and perform data extraction and trend calculations.
• Develop cost accounting standards and perform variance analysis.
• Maintain procedural prices using costing methodologies and market data.
• Prepare and monitor operating and capital budgets.
• Support budgeting, finance, cost accounting and reporting.
• Apply government program rules to financial activities.
• Assist with revenue cycle tasks and charge reconciliation.
• Track and update reports; assist with meetings.
• Investigate internal financial reporting questions.
