Job summary

Advocate Health is offering a remote internship in the People & Culture Workforce Development department for May 31, 2027 to August 6, 2027. Interns will work up to 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri during business hours, from home.

Eligible states include KY and others; no experience required other than being enrolled in a finance- or accounting-related degree. This role emphasizes data analysis, budgeting support, and revenue-cycle involvement with emphasis on Excel-based automation and cost

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Management or a related field with junior or senior standing.
GPA of at least 2.5 and enrollment at a regional accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

Use Excel to develop automated processes reducing manual work.
Review and analyze discrepancies in charges and implement necessary changes.
Prepare financial and statistical analyses and manipulate data for trend calculations.
Assist with cost accounting standards and budgeting, including variance analysis.
Support budgeting, finance, and reporting activities across Advocate Health and affiliates.
Apply government program rules and reimbursement information to financial activities.
Perform charge reconciliation and support revenue cycle projects.
Track and update reports and assist with administrative duties.
