Job summary

RBC in Jersey City seeks a Director of US Controller to lead financial reporting, governance, controls, and strategic finance initiatives for Bank Subsidiaries. You will partner with U.S. Controller leadership to ensure US GAAP/IFRS compliance and flawless closes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years experience in a banking/financial services environment
• Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS accounting requirements
• Proven ability to lead and drive change across a multi-platform department
• Strong understanding of regional and global P&L reporting

Responsibilities

• Serve as the principal deputy and strategic partner supporting the U.S. Controller on expanded initiatives
• Provide leadership continuity and decision support during periods of absence or high demand
• Coordinate between US Bank Subsidiaries, U.S. Controller and RBC Head Office
• Develop enterprise-level controllership, governance, and leadership capabilities
• Create a sustainable succession pipeline for the financial controller function
• Oversee month/quarter/year-end closes with timely, accurate reporting
• Lead the financial reporting function and ensure timely disclosures
• Manage internal and external audit relationships and remediation of audit points
• Drive finance transformation, ERP integration, and automation initiatives
• Foster enterprise collaboration and alignment with RBC leadership model
