Job summary

Maverick, a homebuilding finance and insurance technology company, seeks a Controller to own the finance function end to end in Downtown St. Petersburg, FL. The role reports to the President and works with senior executives on program economics and automation initiatives.

You will drive the monthly close, financial reporting, and treasury, while shaping budgets, KPIs, and management dashboards to scale the business thoughtfully.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, incl. controller/manager roles.
• Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated full-cycle close ownership and GAAP expertise.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close with accurate financial statements.
• Oversee insurance and warranty accounting and carrier settlements.
• Build annual budget, rolling forecast, and variance analysis.
• Develop KPIs, dashboards, and management reporting.
• Lead treasury and cash forecasting; coordinate payroll and expenses.
• Own automation plans for finance processes and system integrations.
