Job summary

Verital Advisory Search supports a growing Barrington law firm in hiring an experienced Controller to own the financial operations and help shape strategy. You’ll work directly with firm leadership to drive growth and strengthen controls.

You will oversee AP/AR, payroll coordination, reconciliations, and trust accounting (IOLTA), while preparing statements, budgets, and cash-flow reports. A discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of accounting, finance, or financial management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with budgeting, reporting, payroll, and cash-flow management.
• Law firm or professional services experience, IOLTA or trust accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations, including AP/AR, payroll coordination, and reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash-flow reports.
• Manage trust accounting, IOLTA compliance, and financial controls.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to firm leadership.
• Improve financial processes and reporting as the firm grows.
