Job summary

Bain Capital is seeking an Associate to join the Finance team supporting cash management, reporting, and budgeting functions. You will coordinate weekly cash activity, analyze funds, and help ensure timely wires and reconciliations across multiple entities.

The role emphasizes strong Excel skills, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and opportunities to contribute to audit/tax deliverables and process improvements within a fast-paced real estate and private equity environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar major.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience preferred; Big 4 exposure is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills and comfort with IT tools and AI concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Cash management: analyze and coordinate weekly cash activity including capital calls and distributions.
• Perform weekly cash availability analysis across Funds and assess loan drawdowns and repayments.
• Coordinate with Finance and other Bain departments to ensure timely wires and weekly cash reconciliation.
• Collaborate with outsourced accounting and fund administrator on procedures, tracking, and bank fees.
• Support audit/tax deliverables and assist in preparing quarterly workpapers.
• Assist with annual property operating budget process and ad hoc process improvements.

ASSOCIATE POSITION DESCRIPTION

The responsibilities of the Associate will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Cash Management Track, analyze, and coordinate weekly cash activity, such as processing capital calls and distributions
• Perform weekly cash availability analysis across multiple Funds, including evaluating loan drawdowns and repayments
• Coordinate with multiple Finance team members and other Bain departments to ensure all wires move timely and that cash reconciles weekly
• Coordinate with the outsourced accounting group and fund administrator on cash procedures, cash tracking, and bank fee & interest calculations
• Reporting & Audit Support Review supporting workpapers for monthly interest expense/bank fees as well as assist in the preparation of quarterly workpapers
• Support team members with annual property operating budget process
• Provide assistance with interim & year-end audit/tax deliverables
• Process Improvement Collaborate with Finance team members on ad hoc projects to enhance the products of the department and firm

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar major
• Entry level to 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Preference will be given to Big 4 public accounting experience and/or experience working at a real estate investment manager.
• Advanced Excel skills
• Demonstrated interest in process improvement, including use of IT tools and AI
• Experience in Yardi is preferred, but not required
• Excellent communication skills (email and verbal) plus demonstrated confidence and ability to communicate with all levels of the team
• Must possess exceptional organizational skills, be deadline-driven, and have a keen attention to detail
• Ability to balance competing priorities, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate strong self-motivation

COMPENSATION:

Expected Annual Base Salary $80,000 – 85,000

Actual base salary will be determined by a wide range of factors including but not limited to role, function, level, experience, qualifications and geographic location.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based upon factors such as individual impact, team and firm performance.
