Responsibilities

  • Analyze real estate, market, macroeconomic, and portfolio data to support investment research, opportunity screening, portfolio monitoring, and strategy.
  • Develop, test, and validate predictive, statistical, and forecasting models and analytical frameworks using Python and/or R.
  • Build quantitative investment and portfolio tools, including scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, optimization, and risk/return allocation frameworks.
  • Use SQL to extract, combine, clean, and structure data from internal and external sources; perform data quality checks and document key assumptions.
  • Develop and maintain repeatable reporting, dashboards, and analytical workflows that improve speed and consistency of investment decision-making.
  • Automate recurring analyses and prototype new tools or data products that improve how the team evaluates opportunities and monitors existing investments.
  • Translate investment questions into analytical approaches and communicate methodology, assumptions, limitations, and conclusions clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Research new data sources and quantitative methods and assess their usefulness for real estate investment analysis.

OVERVIEW

This position will work with the firm's Real Estate Investment Team and support the application of data science, statistics, and quantitative methods to real estate investment decisions. The co-op will work across the analytical lifecycle, including sourcing and structuring data, developing predictive and descriptive statistical models, building repeatable reporting and analytical tools, and performing portfolio and scenario analyses. Projects will range from longer-term model development to rapid, investment-driven analyses and will require close collaboration with investment professionals as well as data and technology partners. The role offers exposure to how quantitative analysis can be used to evaluate real estate markets, investments, portfolio construction, and risk.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Analyze real estate, market, macroeconomic, and portfolio data to support investment research, opportunity screening, portfolio monitoring, and strategy.

EXPERIENCE
  • Working towards a major in computer science, data science, economics, math, statistics, or similar.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly motivated individual capable of working independently with minimal oversight.
  • Coursework or prior experience in real estate a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like Python, R, Java, or similar.
  • Knowledge of SQL and database systems like MS SQL Server, Databricks, or Snowflake.
  • Exposure to LLM harnesses like Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, or similar preferred.
COMPENSATION

Expected Hourly Rate of Pay $27.00 – $31.00. Actual hourly rate of pay will be determined by a wide range of factors including but not limited to role, function, level, experience, qualifications and geographic location.
