Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Finance Analyst Intern to support project accounting and finance tasks. The role covers cost control, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, human capital management, and compliance, across projects from $1 million to $4 billion.

Position involves month-end close activities and preparing financial reports for project management, with potential relocation and travel as needed. Base compensation is noted below.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Management, or equivalent.
• Authorized to work without sponsorship.
• Relocate anywhere in the country if required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Up to 50% travel/relocation may be required.
• Pivot Tables and V-Look Ups preferred.
• Strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to spot discrepancies.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Comfort with accessing construction site environments.

Responsibilities

• Support project accounting and finance tasks for a project ranging from $1M to $4B.
• Assist with cost control, payroll, A/P/A/R and human capital management.
• Contribute to month-end close and financial reporting package preparation.
• Understand cost and revenue components (labor, equipment, materials, subcontracts).
• Help ensure compliance with company accounting rules and controls.
• Foster relationships with operations team and learn project workflow.
