Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Manager of Financial Accounting to oversee the coordination and preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements for HM and its corporations.

This role leads staff, ensures accurate journal entries, GL analyses, asset accounting, and budget variance reviews, while coordinating annual budgeting and supporting tax filings, regulatory reporting, and audits across the system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• Five years of accounting experience, including one year in people management.
• CPA preferred (state licensure)

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly consolidated financial statements for HM and related entities.
• Review journal entries, GL analysis, and account balances for accuracy.
• Coordinate annual budgeting and variance analysis across the system.
• Assist in tax filings, regulatory reporting and audits as needed.
