The organization operates in a specialized, high-margin product category and serves both consumer and institutional customers. The business has invested heavily in automation and systems infrastructure and is experiencing significant year-over-year growth. This is an opportunity to join a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment with meaningful exposure to senior leadership and a clear runway for expanded responsibility as the company scales.
Purpose Of Your Position:
You will report directly to the CEO and take ownership of the company’s core accounting/finance function while helping build the financial infrastructure needed to support continued growth. This person will be expected to quickly understand the business, identify opportunities for improvement, and operate comfortably across accounting, finance, and commercial operations. The role is designed for someone who enjoys solving problems independently, adapts quickly to new challenges, and is motivated to grow into broader finance leadership responsibilities over time.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and consistent with GAAP.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting activity across the general ledger, payments, cash receipts, vendor activity, customer transactions, reconciliations, and related financial processes.
- Strengthen inventory accounting and reconciliation processes while partnering with manufacturing, supply chain, and operations on inventory accuracy, product costing, raw material usage, and bills of materials.
- Manage banking relationships, cash activity, credit facility requirements, and reporting to external financial partners.
- Oversee sales and use tax compliance as the company expands into additional jurisdictions.
- Maintain and improve accounting processes within NetSuite and help ensure accurate information flows between the ERP, eCommerce, CRM, and other operating systems.
- Partner with sales leadership to improve commercial finance reporting, pipeline visibility, revenue analysis, and the financial information used to manage the sales organization.
- Review CRM and sales reporting for data integrity and help develop workflows, processes, and reporting that improve accountability and visibility across the commercial organization.
- Work with marketing to evaluate spending, analyze performance, and provide timely financial insight around investment and return.
- Partner with customer-facing teams on accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, and related processes.
- Collaborate across manufacturing, supply chain, sales, marketing, HR, quality, and project management to connect financial information with day-to-day business decisions.
- Continuously evaluate existing processes and take initiative in developing practical solutions that allow the finance function to keep pace with a rapidly growing business.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong foundational accounting experience with the ability to independently own core accounting and close responsibilities.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and experience preparing or overseeing accurate financial reporting.
- Experience working within an ERP environment; NetSuite experience is preferred.
- Exposure to inventory, manufacturing, eCommerce, or product-based businesses is beneficial.
- Comfort working across accounting systems and operational platforms; experience with Shopify, HubSpot, or similar tools is a plus.
- Ability to learn quickly, navigate unfamiliar issues, and develop solutions without requiring highly structured processes or extensive oversight.
- Strong analytical skills with an interest in expanding beyond traditional accounting into operational and commercial finance.
- Collaborative communication style with the ability to work directly with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
