Job summary

AccruePartners in Charlotte, NC is seeking a senior accounting leader to take ownership of financial reporting, general ledger, and month-end close within a growing manufacturing-focused organization.

You will lead the accounting team, drive process improvements, manage inventory/cost accounting and revenue recognition across multiple channels, and partner with senior leadership to enable strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience leading an accounting function and managing a team.
• Manufacturing or product-based experience with inventory and cost accounting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including financial reporting, general ledger management, month-end close, and GAAP compliance.
• Lead inventory, cost accounting, and revenue recognition across multiple channels.
• Manage and develop the accounting team, providing guidance and accountability.
• Take ownership of accounting workflows, strengthen internal controls, and streamline reporting.
• Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insights for business decisions.
• Lead accounting-related process improvements and audit preparation.

LOCATION

• Charlotte, NC | Hybrid schedule with three days per week in the office

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including financial reporting, general ledger management, month-end close, and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Lead inventory, cost accounting, and revenue recognition processes, ensuring accuracy across multiple sales channels and operational systems.
• Manage and develop the accounting team, providing guidance, establishing accountability, and ensuring the team can operate effectively as the business grows.
• Take ownership of accounting systems, identifying opportunities to improve workflows, strengthening internal controls, and streamline financial reporting.
• Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to provide financial insights, resolve accounting challenges, and support business decisions.
• Lead accounting-related process improvements, audit preparation, and other initiatives to strengthen the organization's financial operations.

BACKGROUND THAT FITS

• 8-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience leading an accounting function and managing a team within a growing organization.
• Strong technical accounting expertise, including U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, inventory management, and cost accounting.
• Experience within a manufacturing or product-based business, with an understanding of inventory, operational accounting, and complex financial processes.
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite, including the ability to leverage the system to improve reporting, streamline processes, and support business needs.
• A self-directed, solutions-oriented leader who can operate with limited oversight, make independent decisions, and balance strategic responsibilities with hands-on execution.
