Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic to supervise and perform maintenance and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles in the field and in the shop.

You will inspect, service, repair, test, and replace systems and components, including electrical wiring and charging systems, while developing skills for civilian careers in auto-related fields. Training is paid, with a structured 10-week Basic Training and 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training.

Qualifications

• Interest in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems.
• Interest in automotive engines and how they work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain wheeled vehicles associated trailers and material handling equipment systems.
• Service automotive electrical systems, including wiring harness, and starting and charging systems.
