Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic to supervise and perform maintenance and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles in the field and in the shop. You will inspect, service, maintain, repair, test, and replace systems and components, including electrical systems and charging.

Role develops skills for civilian careers in service stations, auto dealers, and state highway agencies, with paid training and tuition assistance through the Army National Guard.

Qualifications

• Interest in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems.
• Interest in automotive engines and how they work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain wheeled vehicles, associated trailers and material handling equipment systems.
• Service automotive electrical systems, including wiring harness, and starting and charging systems.
