Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic to supervise and perform maintenance on wheeled vehicles in the field and shop. You will inspect and repair vehicle systems, including electrical wiring harnesses and charging systems, and support recovery operations.

You’ll develop skills for civilian careers in service stations, auto dealers, or state agencies, while earning a regular paycheck and tuition assistance. Basic training and AIT weeks apply.

Qualifications

• Interest in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems.
• Interest in automotive engines and how they work.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and perform maintenance and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles.
• Inspect, service, maintain, repair, test, adjust and replace vehicle systems and components.
• Maintain wheeled vehicles, trailers and material handling equipment; service electrical systems including wiring harness and charging systems.
