Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a Specialty Technician to join our Dover team. You will perform field observations, inspections, and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt and steel, with potential NDT involvement.

Responsibilities include executing testing procedures, data collection, and coordinating with project managers. The role requires lifting up to 70 lbs, valid license, and strong communication skills in a field environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Must have or be willing to obtain 2 relevant specialty certifications from industry authorities such as NRC, NICET, WACEL, ACI, IFC, AWS, ASNT, ASTM.
• Ability to carry 40-70 lbs multiple times a day or up to 85 lbs on occasion.
• Must have valid driver’s license and insurance; transportation to job sites.
• Strong communication skills; ability to read and write clearly.
• Working knowledge of destructive and non-destructive testing principles and standards.
• Ability to read/interpret engineering and construction plans; basic MS Office knowledge.
• NDE testing focus: calibration of NDE equipment if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: Perform observations, testing, inspections, and sampling of materials; follow project requirements under supervision.
• Testing Procedures: Conduct routine observations of structural steel and reinforcing steel using industry-standard methods.
• Data Collection: Perform calculations, data reduction, and drafting; maintain field equipment.
• Communication: Maintain daily contact with site contractors and project managers; attend meetings as needed.
• Training and Development: Receive ECS methodology training and document findings precisely.
