Job summary

ECS Limited seeks a talented Specialty Technician I to join our Baton Rouge team, performing field-based destructive and non-destructive testing, inspections, and observations in support of specialty construction materials testing projects.

The role focuses on testing disciplines such as structural steel inspections, welding observations, and NDE, working under supervision to build technical competency while upholding ECS Core Values and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with two specialty certifications.
• Two specialty certifications applicable to the work performed as per policy; OSHA 10 may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs destructive and non-destructive testing on construction materials.
• Conducts inspections of structural steel, reinforcing steel, and connections (welded and bolted).
• Performs field observations and inspections and collects samples for testing.
• Documents findings in accordance with engineering and inspection standards.
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Reports changes in site conditions and additional testing needs.
• Performs inspections in fabrication facilities when required.
• Prepares and submits daily field reports and documentation.
• Performs basic calculations and data reduction tasks.
• Maintains and organizes field testing equipment.
• Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment.
• Attends project meetings as requested.
• Performs other specialty testing and inspection duties as assigned.
