Job summary

ACV Auctions in Richmond, VA is seeking an enthusiastic Inspector who loves cars. You will be the face of ACV, inspecting vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease sources, and explaining findings clearly to customers.

You’ll work with a Territory Manager and Inspectors to document vehicle condition, costs, and reports, travel to locations, take photos, and list vehicles for bidding on our platform. A year of auto-field experience and valid license are required.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in automobile field with customer service background.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to work outside in the elements for extended periods.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a team environment.
• Excellent communicator with ability to understand customer needs and expectations.
• Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle required.
• Knowledge of system capabilities and relevant software/web-based apps.
• Ability to perform manual labor (standing, 25 lbs+, bending).
• Ability to drive manual and automatic transmission.
• Vision to identify small defects around vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease to detect damage and mechanical issues.
• Prepare reports of vehicle condition and repair estimates with related docs.
• Support sales in up-sell/cross-sell of services and products.
• Interface with dealers to ensure client satisfaction and build relationships.
• Travel to dealerships and homes to inspect and write condition reports.
• Take photos of vehicles and upload to image server.
• List inspected wholesale vehicles on ACV Auctions platform for bidding.
• Sign up independent dealerships as buyers on the platform.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
