Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Site Union Labor Relations Specialist to mobilize on a Harriman, TN project for the duration. The role focuses on enforcing internal Labor Relations policies on site and addressing union-related questions and disputes with NABTU and UBC unions.

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree preferred; Industrial construction experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience dealing with unions.
• Experience with union contracts.
• Ability to deal with multiple personalities and to handle difficult interpersonal situations.
• Understanding of construction.

Responsibilities

• Works with site team and Labor Relations to implement union labor employment policies.
• Collaborates with Local Union representatives to resolve jurisdictional work issues.
• Serves as primary contact between site team and Local Building Trades.
• May manage information and KPI reporting for the project.
• Handles union employee discipline, grievances, EEOC charges, and wage/fringe rate interpretations.
• Communicates with Local Union Halls for manpower requests and referrals.
• Attends Building Trades meetings for Pre-Job Conferences and project meetings.
