United Utility Services is seeking a skilled UAS Pilot for field surveys in the Transmission and Distribution sector. Expect to collect data from power lines, poles, and equipment using handheld ground cameras and aerial sensors with thermal and LiDAR capabilities.

Travel to project sites with expenses covered. You will work under Field Survey Supervisor, gaining exposure to training in Ground Penetrating Radar and utility locating procedures, with a path toward Thermography Level 1 IR analysis

Qualifications

• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience operating unmanned aerial systems, preferably in the T&D industry.
• Strong knowledge of T&D infrastructure, including power lines, poles, and related equipment.
• Proficiency in operating UAS platforms and related software, including flight planning and data analysis tools.

Responsabilités

• Pre-flight planning including weather, hazards, and flight plan.
• Safely operate UAS to capture visual and thermal data of T&D poles.
• Collect data using handheld cameras and UAS sensors including LiDAR.
• Perform visual and thermal inspections and report findings.
• Ensure safety protocols during flights near power lines and structures.
• Maintain and inspect UAS equipment.
• Collaborate with design, engineering, and maintenance teams.
• Pursue ongoing training and certifications in UAS tech.
