Job summary

Summit Design and Engineering Services is seeking an Inspector to assist with roadway and structure inspections, perform calculations under supervision, and ensure materials meet specifications on highway projects. The role requires strong math skills and the ability to read plans and blueprints.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, proficiency with iPad and MS Office, and the physical stamina to work outdoors on varied terrain.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or equivalent.
• Mathematics skills in algebra/geometry/trigonometry with ability to apply formulas.
• Proficiency with iPad and MS Office suite; cloud storage tools acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in inspecting roadways/structures and perform calculations under supervision.
• Perform materials sampling and testing.
• Collect weigh tickets and conduct roadway tests to meet specs.
• Monitor and perform inspection work on highway projects.
• Maintain daily records and prepare monthly project estimates.
• Take field measurements and calculate contract pay quantities.
• Read plans and blueprints.
