Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry for calculations.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions with supervision as needed.
• Experience reading roadway, bridge, or structure plans is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in inspection of roadways and structures during construction.
• Perform calculations and computations with supervision.
• Conduct materials sampling and testing.
• Collect weigh tickets and perform roadway tests to meet specs.
• Monitor and perform inspection work on highway projects.
• Keep daily records and prepare monthly project estimates.
• Take field measurements and determine contract pay quantities.
• Read plans and blueprints.
