Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems in Augusta, GA seeks a Traffic Control Technician to set up and take down lane closures and ensure work zone safety on state highways and other roadways.

You will drive MOT and TMA vehicles, install signs, cones, and safety devices, and coordinate with crews. The role requires a valid driver's license, 1–3 years of traffic control experience, and the ability to travel statewide and work nights/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid US Driver's License with a good driving record.
• 1–3 years of experience and 2,000 field hours in traffic control.
• Must pass background checks including motor vehicle records.
• Must pass a drug test and meet federal DOT requirements.
• Wear PPE: boots with safety toe, hard hat, safety glasses, vest.
• Read and follow road signs; understand regulations.
• Travel statewide; nights and weekends may be required.
• ATSSA TCT intermediate training required.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds; mechanical background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT and TMA vehicles to projects and work sites.
• Place signs, arrow boards, cones, and safety devices.
• Monitor and secure work zones; load/unload traffic control items.
• Perform shop maintenance and follow safety rules.
