Job summary

Power Engineering Services, a Quanta Services Company, seeks an Assistant Testing Technician (NETA 2) to join teams across Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio. You will perform acceptance and maintenance testing on electrical power systems in the field, under experienced technicians, building hands‑on expertise toward certification and leadership roles.

Requirements include NETA Level 2 (or sit for exam within 6 months) and 2+ years of hands‑on testing.

Qualifications

• NETA Level 2 certification or ability to sit for exam within 6 months.
• Minimum 2+ years hands‑on electrical testing/maintenance experience.
• Associate degree or technical training; EE degree a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance and maintenance testing on power systems and equipment.
• Set up, calibrate, and operate electrical test equipment and verify readings.
• Document test data and draft field test reports for review.
• Follow NETA standards, NFPA 70E, and safety protocols on site.
• Assist with troubleshooting and root‑cause investigations.
• Support training of Level 1 technicians and apprentices.
• Maintain test equipment and vehicle inventory in calibrated condition.
• Represent PES professionally on customer sites and communicate status clearly.
