Job summary

Intertek, a leader in quality and safety solutions, seeks a Field Testing Technician Level II in York, PA. You will lead field testing projects, collect data, and write reports while traveling weekly to job sites.

This role requires 2+ years in construction or testing, strong communication, and the ability to manage tasks on site. Company-provided vehicles and travel expenses are included, with overnight stays as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in commercial construction, building envelope or fenestration.
• Ability to learn the building envelope including wall cladding systems, curtain wall, window and door systems, waterproofing, roofing, etc.
• Working knowledge of test methods and standards or the ability to learn them.
• Aptitude for working independently and leading a crew on assigned projects.
• Strong communication skills with customers and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Lead field testing projects, data collection and report writing.
• Set up for testing including rough carpentry work to construct test chambers.
• Run equipment on the interior of the buildings and work with customers during testing.
• Operate high reach lift equipment (boom lifts, scaffolding).
• Assist with forensic investigations of building envelope failures (isolation work on exterior).
• Communicate with clients and project team regarding site observations and test preparation on all projects assigned.
• Provide project planning on site for required elements such as water, electricity and access by communicating with clients and project team.
• Travel with overnight stays; company covers travel expenses plus per diem.
• Perform physical work relevant to responsibilities as assigned.
