Job summary

AMH is seeking a Field Technician Turn in Schaumburg, IL to support tenant turnover and property maintenance for a portfolio of single-family homes. You will inspect properties, coordinate move-outs, verify contractor work, and troubleshoot plumbing, electrical, and HVAC issues, while upholding safety standards.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2+ years in residential maintenance, basic tools proficiency, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED preferred.
• Minimum two years of Residential/Property Maintenance or related field required, or five years of experience in lieu of education.
• Familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Universal EPA or HVAC Type II certification preferred.
• OSHA safety knowledge required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, time management and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask, work independently or in a team, and adapt to a changing environment.
• Physical ability to lift/move up to 75 lbs and climb ladders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain property inventory and oversee tenant turns and move-out inspections.
• Coordinate tenant move-outs, key exchanges, and property condition reports.
• Inspect contractor work to meet standards.
• Attend eviction-related activities as needed.
• Provide troubleshooting for plumbing, electrical, and HVAC issues.
• Operate on-site work using ladders and tools per guidelines.
