Job summary

AMH Crystal Lake, IL is seeking a Field Technician Maintenance to perform repairs, troubleshooting, installation and ongoing maintenance at AMH properties, ensuring homes are safe and functional. The technician will support residents and property operations across maintenance tasks.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years in residential maintenance, valid license, HVAC knowledge, and proficiency with hand and power tools, plus MS Office and iPad usage.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of residential/property maintenance experience.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Proficiency with basic and power tools.
• EPA HVAC Type II certification required in applicable states.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and climb ladders.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and iPad.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide troubleshooting support for water heater, plumbing, garage door, irrigation, and electrical issues.
• Perform home repairs including carpentry, drywall, roofing and fencing.
• Ensure HVAC systems are operational and perform tune-ups.
• Maintain equipment in clean, orderly condition.
• Update and complete mobile work orders within timeframe.
• Engage with vendors and tenants.
