Job summary

AMH is seeking a Field Technician Maintenance to perform repairs, troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance at AMH properties, ensuring homes are functional and safe for residents.

The role requires 2+ years in residential/property maintenance or 5 years with no degree, EPA/HVAC Type II certification where applicable, and a valid driver’s license. Proficiency with iPad, Microsoft Office, and OSHA safety practices is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED preferred; Associate degree or tech training a plus.
• Minimum two years in Residential/Property Maintenance or five years in lieu of education.
• EPA or HVAC Type II Certification required where applicable.
• OSHA safety knowledge and proper handling of tools and equipment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong communication, time management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide troubleshooting for water heater, plumbing, garage door, irrigation, and electrical issues.
• Perform home repairs including carpentry, drywall, roofing, and fencing.
• Ensure HVAC systems are operational and perform tune-ups.
• Maintain equipment in clean, orderly, and functional condition.
• Update and complete mobile work orders within required timeframes.
• Engage regularly with vendors and tenants.
