Job summary

ECS Group of Companies (ECS) is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join our Dallas team. No experience is required as you will learn under seasoned professionals to safely perform field tasks.

You will conduct observation, testing, and sampling of soils, aggregates, and concrete; perform field and laboratory tests, collect data, and communicate with project teams. Training toward certifications (OSHA 10, CMT-related) is provided.

Qualifications

No experience required.
High school diploma or GED.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle and follow all local and state laws, road/driving regulations, and company policies.
Willing to develop understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
Willing to obtain knowledge of CMT principles and applications, as well as ASTM laboratory standards, leading to certifications in soils, concrete, and radiation safety.
OSHA 10 certification may be required.
Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

Field activities: observe, test, and sample materials (soils, aggregates, concrete) at project sites under supervision.
Perform routine field/laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete following industry standards.
Collect data, perform calculations, and assist with drafting and admin duties as needed.
Maintain clear communication with site contractors, technicians, and project managers; report changes and requests.
Receive training in ECS methodology and document findings precisely per engineering practices.
