Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is hiring a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician in Bentonville. No experience is required, and you will learn under experienced professionals with paid training and coverage of certification fees.

You will perform field testing of soils, aggregates, and concrete, collect data, and communicate with project staff. ECS supports ongoing training and will assist with certifications such as OSHA 10 and ASTM standards as you progress.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Must have a valid driver's license and insurance.
• Willing to learn heavy construction safety practices and procedures.
• Willing to gain knowledge of CMT principles and ASTM standards (soil, concrete, radiation safety).
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, writing).
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: observe, test, and sample soils, aggregates, and concrete on site; perform tasks under supervision.
• Testing Procedures: conduct routine field and laboratory tests using standard methods and equipment.
• Data Collection: perform calculations and data reduction from tests and sampling; assist with drafting and admin duties as needed.
• Communication: maintain daily contact with site contractors and project managers; report changes and coordinate testing.
• Training and Development: receive ECS training for project observations, inspections, and testing; document findings precisely.
