Job summary

GHD is seeking an Environmental Field Technician based in Taos, NM, to manage and support remediation and O&M projects throughout the region. This role involves field sampling, data collection, system inspections, and coordination with contractors.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of environmental field experience and be proficient in electrical and mechanical maintenance. The position may require overtime and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of environmental field experience.
• Willingness to perform field work and overtime as required.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus.

Environmental Field Technician – Taos, NM

We are recruiting a skilled Environmental Field Technician to support remediation and O&M projects across the region. This role will assist with field sampling, data collection, system inspections and coordinated contractor oversight.

Responsibilities

• Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of soil and groundwater remediation systems, including mechanical, electrical troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Data collection and site inspections; gather system performance measurements.
• Perform field sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, vapor, etc. according to applicable standards.
• Maintain equipment and chemical inventory; perform jobsite housekeeping.
• Collect detailed field notes and communicate observations orally.
• Coordinate with contractors and service providers; oversee contractor activities.
• Support and oversee other field activities as needed.
• Collaborate with project team, local stakeholders, and clients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; college degree in an environmental-related field (e.g., geology, wastewater operations, environmental science) is a plus.
• Five or more years of environmental field experience.
• Proficient in electrical and mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Willingness to perform field work and overtime as required.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus.
