Job summary

GHD in Durango, CO seeks an Environmental Field Technician to support remediation and O&M projects. You will operate and maintain soil and groundwater remediation systems and perform field sampling to monitor performance.

Environmental Field Technician

Location: Durango, CO. Join our US Central Environmental business as a field technician supporting remediation and O&M projects.

Responsibilities

  • Collect data, conduct site inspections, and sample for system performance.
  • Inventory equipment and chemicals.
  • Maintain jobsite housekeeping.
  • Perform field sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, vapor, etc. per applicable standards.
  • Record detailed field notes and provide oral communication.
  • Coordinate with contractors, service providers, and oversee contractor activities.
  • Support and oversee other field activities as needed.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED required; college degree in environmental related field (geology, wastewater operations, environmental science) is a plus.
  • 5+ years of environmental field experience.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
  • Willingness and ability to perform field work.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime as required.
  • Valid driver’s license with clear driving record.
  • OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus.

Salary: $31.26 – $52.10 per hour, varying based on experience and location.
