Job summary

ECS Limited in Columbia is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join our Columbia team and advance in a dynamic work environment. The Field Technician performs field observations and begins conducting routine testing of construction materials under direct supervision.

This role is primarily field-based and supports project execution by collecting data, documenting site conditions, and assisting with testing activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Obtain basic certifications applicable to the work performed as per the ECS Technician Certification Policy.
• If driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary, a valid drivers license is required.
• Good communication skills (verbal, written, and reading comprehension).
• Ability to read maps, follow directions, and interpret plans (developing).
• Basic math skills and data entry ability.

Responsibilities

• Performs field observation, testing, and sampling of soil, aggregates, and concrete under supervision
• Assists with construction materials testing activities on project sites
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers
• Reports changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors
• Assists with preparation and submission of daily field reports
• Supports basic calculations and data entry related to testing results
• Assists in organizing and maintaining field equipment
• Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment
• Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested
• Performs other field and project support duties as assigned
