Rogers-O'Brien Construction seeks a proactive Field Technician - IT to provide hands-on IT support for job sites and the Dallas regional office. This on-site role requires in-person assistance to keep devices, networks, and users productive.

You will play a vital role in maintaining and improving our technical operations, supporting jobsite mobilizations, and delivering high-quality helpdesk support to employees across the company. This on-site position requires in-person support due to the hands-on nature of the role, making remote work unavailable. Your contributions will be essential in enhancing efficiency, reducing downtime, and aligning with Rogers-O’Brien’s strategic objectives.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred; equivalent experience considered
3–5 years of relevant IT support experience required
CompTIA A+ or Tech+ certification preferred for validating foundational IT skills
Ability to meet company driving requirements to operate a company vehicle
Physical capability to lift up to 20 lbs and adapt to changing work environments
Strong critical thinking skills to effectively analyze and resolve IT issues
Exceptional communication skills are essential for clear interactions with users and vendors
Deploy and support workstations, hardware, and network setups at jobsites and offices to ensure seamless IT operations
Provide on-site support for technical issues that cannot be resolved remotely, ensuring minimal disruption to field activities
Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues such as VPN, remote tools, and ISP problems to maintain uninterrupted service
Lead equipment setup, repairs, replacements, and IT demobilizations to facilitate efficient jobsite transitions
Conduct field visits to assess equipment and system performance, ensuring reliability and operational readiness
Supervise IT interns during mobilizations and training, fostering skill development and effective team support
Coordinate with project teams and identify improvement areas with IT leadership to enhance overall IT processes
