Job summary

Electric Power Systems, a NETA-accredited electrical testing and engineering firm, seeks a Field Technician II for substation testing, inspection, and maintenance across North America. The role emphasizes safety, independence, and quality in field operations, with opportunities for professional growth through certifications and training.

You will troubleshoot complex equipment and assist commissioning activities.

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Must complete a satisfactory background check.
• Able to work overtime and travel out of town for periods of time.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing of high, medium, and low voltage electrical equipment with limited supervision.
• Inspect, test, and maintain circuit breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, grounding systems, battery systems, and switchgear.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals; escalate as needed.
• Perform routine and corrective maintenance; repair, replace, and adjust electrical components.
• Execute functional checks and assist with commissioning activities; document work per requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers and senior technicians to complete field activities safely and efficiently.
• Maintain tools and work areas to ensure readiness and compliance.
