Job summary

UES is seeking a Field Technician I to support engineering, environmental services, and materials testing projects in the Raleigh, North Carolina area. You will perform on‑site inspections, materials testing, and environmental sampling to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, safety‑minded, and comfortable traveling up to 70% of the time.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required; vocational training is a plus.
• 0–3 years in outdoor field roles is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and safe operation of company vehicles.
• Industry certifications such as ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing are a plus.
• Commitment to OSHA standards and PPE usage.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and field data collection tools.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret blueprints and technical docs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field and lab testing of soils, concrete, and related materials.
• Collect, label, and transport samples to labs.
• Prepare detailed test reports and maintain records.
• Maintain testing equipment and calibration.
• Communicate results and site conditions to stakeholders.
• Follow timelines and safety protocols.
• Operate a company vehicle and travel to sites.
• Support ongoing training and certifications.
