Job summary

UES, Inc. is seeking a motivated Field Technician I to support engineering, environmental services, materials testing, and inspection projects. You will conduct on-site inspections and laboratory testing to ensure construction and environmental work meets industry standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training in construction, engineering, geology, or related field is a plus.
• 0–3 years of field-based outdoor or physically demanding experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with safe driving record; ability to operate company vehicles.
• Industry certifications such as ACI Level 1 or ability to obtain within specified time.
• Commitment to safety; follow OSHA standards and PPE requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Field Data Collection software or similar tools.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• Strong time management, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team; flexible travel schedules.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other construction materials to verify compliance with project specs and regulations.
• Collect, label, and transport samples from job sites to laboratories for testing.
• Ensure testing requirements align with project specs, requirements, and company policies.
• Prepare detailed reports, logs, and documentation of test results for project managers.
• Maintain testing equipment and ensure proper functionality.
• Document test results, observations, and site conditions accurately and timely.
• Communicate status, issues, and updates with dispatch and project teams.
• Adhere to project timelines and deadlines; adapt to changing requirements.
• Participate in ongoing training and certifications to stay compliant.
