Job summary

UES, Inc. seeks a Field Technician I to support engineering, environmental services, materials testing, and inspection projects.

You will perform on-site inspections, materials testing, and environmental sampling to ensure construction and environmental work meet industry standards and regulatory requirements. The role involves frequent travel (up to 70%), outdoor work, and collaboration with experienced professionals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training in construction, engineering, geology, or related field is a plus.
• 0-3 years of field-based outdoor or physically demanding experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; ability to operate company vehicles safely.
• Industry certifications such as ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing, or ability to obtain within specified time.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field and laboratory testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other materials to verify compliance with specs and standards.
• Collect, label, and transport samples from job sites to laboratories for testing.
• Maintain testing equipment and follow safety guidelines and procedures.
• Prepare detailed reports, logs, and documentation of test results for project managers.
• Adapt to project timelines, travel requirements, and changing field conditions.
