Job summary

UES is seeking a Field Technician I in Greenville, SC to support construction materials testing in active field environments. You will gain hands-on experience testing soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates while learning from experienced technicians and engineers.

Ideal candidates are dependable, curious, and willing to learn, with a readiness to travel up to 70% and work in varying outdoor conditions. OSHA safety practices and PPE use will be emphasized throughout training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or coursework is a plus.
• 0–3 years in outdoor, field-based, or physically demanding roles preferred.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record and ability to operate company vehicles.
• Industry certifications such as ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Test construction materials (soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate) to help meet project specs.
• Work on active construction sites and field environments rather than a traditional office.
• Collaborate with contractors, field supervisors, project managers, and crews.
• Develop knowledge through ongoing training and industry certification programs.
• Document results accurately and maintain safety and quality standards.
