Job summary

UES is seeking a motivated Field Technician I to support engineering, environmental services, materials testing, and inspection projects. The role involves on‑site inspections, sample collection, and laboratory testing to ensure project compliance.

The ideal candidate thrives in outdoor environments, values safety, and works well with a team while traveling frequently to job sites. Candidates should have a high school diploma (or equivalent), basic computer skills, and a willingness to obtain

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training a plus.
0–3 years of field-based outdoor experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Industry certifications such as ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing, or ability to obtain within time period.
Commitment to OSHA safety standards and PPE usage.
Proficiency with MS Office and Field Data Collection (FDC) software.
Ability to read blueprints, procedures, manuals, and test documents.
Strong time management and attention to detail.
Willingness to travel up to 70% for project needs.

Responsibilities

Conduct field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials.
Collect, label and transport samples to labs.
Maintain and operate testing equipment per guidelines.
Document test results and prepare reports for managers.
Communicate test status and site conditions with field teams.
